Last month we told you about the new BlackBerry Messenger coming with OS 5.0. Yesterday links to the BlackBerry Messenger client leaked on the Internet for all recent BlackBerry devices, but people kept asking for OTA links. So our dude, 0mie over at 0mieTechSupport, made the downloads over the air and hooked it up! We decided to host them here as well, so feel free to visit our links from your BlackBerry Browser and it should prompt you to download it.
Please remember that this BlackBerry Messenger version is in beta and may still be buggy. We STRONGLY encourage you to backup your BlackBerry before upgrading. We can not be liable for any damages it may cause.

I have the V4.5.081 version (Blackberry 8320) and when I went to download it erased the BBM I had. So it didn’t work for me. Therefore, I had to call my subscriber and it was a long process to get my BBM back to my phone.
I have the bb bold os 4.6 and everythime I go to download it it gives the cod message. What is the error with my bb? I know many peopple who have had no tropuble so it must be why phone. What do I do?? Help!!!
I installed this using the OTA link on my bold (4.6) and I am experiencing the common issue with the application not appearing. I don’t know if this is related to the fact that a couple weeks ago I noticed my download folder was missing.. is this where it was supposed to end up? Please help.
Hi I have the backberry 8330 and downloaded this app and even rebooted. I see the application in options but no messenger.??? Any ideas

I downloaded it for my Tour, and it seemed to be working. The only problem I am having is that I am not recieving or able to send BBM’s. HELP!!!!

Clear your cache in your browser and try and connect to WiFi so you have a stable connection.

Try and see if you can uninstall and reinstall your BBM, I’ve also heard that the new 5.0 BBM puts itself in the Application folder. Also, try and click show all to see if its accidently hid itself. If this doesn’t work. Try and install the BBM 5.0 by finding the .zip file (which we don’t host) and installing it through yuor BB Desktop Manager.

If you want to downgrade back to your original BBM, you need to first delete the 5.0 version off your BBM. To do this, follow the link posted above on how to downgrade back to original BBM.

I am also having problems recieving and sending bbm’s. Attempt to cycle your device by rebooting it, also try and re-push your service books as well.
hey okay so i have the bold and i downloaded the new bbm it worked fine and now today like 2 days later my bbm is all messed up. im not getting any messages and theyre not sending. its really frustrating, i took my battery and sim card out several times to restart my phone and it still isnt working…is it because of this download, because i have a lot of experience with blackberries and i dont believe its the phone. what do you think?

It doesn’t appear to be the phone. I assume it’s the network and it is down for me as well as many others. Attempt to power cycle your phone every few minutes.

RIM is currently having a BBM and PIN outtage across north america with more then 50% of users unable to send PIN and BBM messages. No information on when it will be up as of yet.

Clear your cache on your BlackBerry, then make sure you have good signal or are connected via WiFi. Power cycle your device and then attempt to download it again making sure that your using the default internet browser and not WAP.

I have a BB Bold and the OS 4.0.0.117 I seem to be having the same problem as everyone else. After downloading lost BBM but it shows in my apps
I also tried to download the new version and it totally messed up my Blackberry Storm!!! I went back to my original BBM version that was installed with my phone.
TRUST ME… If I have gone this long without BBM 5.0, I can definitely WAIT until Blackberry OFFICIALLY releases the latest version of 5.0!!!

i have the curve 8900 and tryed download stupid BBM5 and it didnt download all the way, as well as it deletted my old one and that becouse i have virsion 4.6 i guess… please give me directions on what to do so I can get my BBM back working with all the contacts.. hope I havent lost em all.. cheers

As said above, you NEED OS version only 4.5.0.131 or later. Please read next time for requirements.

Find the newest software for your BlackBerry which can usually be found at CrackBerry.com and then install it. Once thats done, install 5.0bbm by clicking the link up top with your BB browser.

Easiest way is to download your OS again and reinstall it from your Desktop Manager. If you didn’t back up your BBM contacts, its most likely that it’ll all disapear.
Do you think there will ever be a way to have the BBM 5 on a Curve 83xx 4.5 77 .. ?

No dice installing BBM 5.0 – anyone having any luck with this on Beta OS leaks? OTA makes BBM disappear completely, using application loader leads to an incompatibility error. Have restored my old version, but still would like a workaround on this ;o)
I’m sorry, I really don’t understand why there is such a disconnect with users and the leaked BBM 5.0.8. Guys, the author of this forum has clearly started that you MUST, that means you MUST, has a BlackBerry running OS higher than version 4.5.0.131. For example, if your are running OS 4.5.0.110 guess what…it will not work – period. I have personally installed BBM 5.0 on my BlackBerry Tours 9630, and friend’s/peer’s who own the BlackBerry Curve 8330, Curve 8320, and the Storm 1. All OSs were up-to-date of course, hence, successful installation. I didn’t use these .jad files, but i”m sure they are the same files I used on mine. PLEASE READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE INSTALLING.
