It is old news now that AT&T is planning on buying T-Mobile to become the biggest wireless carrier in the United State. But will the deal get approved? Probably, but if it doesn’t, AT&T will owe Deutsche Telekom $6 billion in assets, services, and cash as a break-up fee. The $39 billion merge is bound to shake up the wireless industry as different opinions come into play.
The $6 billion break-up fee would consist of $3 billion in case, $2 billion in spectrum, and a roaming agreement worth at $1 billion. We are all awaiting to hear the opinion of the U.S. telecommunications regulator, the FCC, and the DoJ.
