Exclusive Mini-Review: LG Xenon

We got our hands on LG Xenon today and boy is this thing clean. Hit the jump for more!

To start off, the phone has a resistive touchscreen with slide out QWERTY keyboard for typing. It’s packing a 2 Megapixel camera with dedicated camera button.

The software running on the phone seemed very similar to Samsung’s Touch Wiz OS. It has a widgets box where you can drag and drop different items on to the desktop. We found this to be kind of hard to use due to the fact that the widgets were so large and the desktop was so small. The “note” widget took up a huge chunk of the screen. The phone was running on early firmware so this may change later when production models hit. The widgets had your basic items such as a calendar, photos, analog clock/alarm, notepad etc.

Huge shout out to LG for creating an amazing keyboard. The feel of the keyboard was very similar to the Sidekick 2 (rubbery) and the travel between the buttons was excellent. You can feel the click with every press without the buttons being too stubborn.

Camera quality was decent. We did take a photo and the phone locked up while saving the picture requiring a battery pull. Again, early software so this is obviously a small bug they will fix.

Speaker was loud and easy to hear.

The build quality was great. The phone was very light and very pocket-able while maintaining a high quality feel to it.

The address book of the phone has been improved compared to the software on the LG Vu. The scrolling direction while going through the names is now similar to that of the G1 and iPhone. There is a dedicated button in the address menu for browsing via first letter.

All in all we were very pleased with the phone. We were told it will hit AT&T very soon at a $100 price point after $50 mail in rebate. It will drop in 3 colors including black and red.

Glad to see LG step it up with this model. Looking forward to it! The LG Xenon is a great phone but There are many other options currently available on the market. Make the right choice when it comes to cell phones by reviewing the specs and deals offered.

Today i find a people evaluate the LG Xenon vs AT&T Quickfire like this.He said that “From the shape we can see that the LG Xenon is more smooth, and the AT&T Quickfire has more edges and corners.Personally,i prefer the AT&T Quickfire to the LG Xenon, beacause i think there are textures of the AT&T Quickfire, but also i like the colours of AT&T Quickfire, especially the silver color. While the LG Xenon’s colour is more fashion, customers who like fashion can choose the LG Xenon. In features, both of the two at&t cell phones are all almost same. They are all tochscreen mobiles and all sports a full QWERTY keyboard.Besides they also support the same Bluetoot,GSM/GPRS/Edge/HSDPA,as well as offer WiFi connectivity, a 2.8-inch display(the resolution may not same),camera. But the LG Xenon will come with a 3-megapixel camera, the AT&T Quickfire will feature a 1.3-megapixe……”

I just got this phone 3 days ago and i must day say i love it everything about it i love. The keyboard is what really attracted me to this phone its the best ever. It was either this or Samsung Eternity and the keyboard is what made me get this one. Also the Samsung Impression was also a personal fav but it was to big and chunky for me and it was overpriced so i end up getting the Lg Xenon the best phone eva.

Good info on cell phone unlocking. I love cell phones and work at a little cell phone shop where we unlock phones and mod them for people. Add http://free-cell-phone-unlock.com to your list of free cell phone unlock sites, I use the downloads there a lot to help me unlock phones for customers, don’t be mad but hey I have to make a living some kinda way!! lol.

Anyways, I figured you could use that in your bag of tricks too 🙂

I’ve had my LG Xenon with the final year, but I only lately discovered this website, Up right up until now, I under no circumstances really looked into applying the mobile phone as something but a voice and SMS device, but although it was out for repair I had been making use of a Motorola KRZR as being a back-up and I truly hated it. I’m also a former employee of Rogers Wireless, where I had been a member on the Network Operations group; they would be the ones accountable for the inter/intra-site transport, switching and base-station network. While we by no means got to play with too significantly customer hardware, I do know for a simple fact there exists ‘un-branded’ firmware offered for every single cell phone out there. Ahead of a carrier decides to carry any phone they get a base model in the manufacturer that they demo and set as a result of tests – discovering 1 of these demo units would likely be simpler said than performed on the other hand. Most on the time, they just get passed of to buddies or loved ones members who do not even realize that the cellphone is unlocked and unbranded.

of course like your website however you have to test the spelling on several of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling problems and I find it very bothersome to tell the reality however I will certainly come again again.
