Apple today released the iOS 4.3.3 software update that fixes the location tracking problem that was recently found on iPhone devices. As expected, the iOS 4.3.3 update will help to fix this problem and make your location more secure. This one is available for the iPhone 4 (GSM), iPhone 3GS, iPad 2, iPad, and iPod touch. Apple explains that this update changes the iOS crowd-sourced location database cache including:

  • Reduces the size of the cache
  • No longer backs up the cache up to iTunes
  • Deleted the cache entirely when Location Services are turned off.

The iOS update is available via iTunes as a free update. You might want to hold off on this one if your iPhone is jailbroken.

I downloaded the 4.3.3 iTunes upgrade, and now none of my purchased Apps will work!!!! Only the iTunes “basic” apps are functional…my many other programs won’t even start up on the iPhone. Is anybody else having this problem…?

I downloaded this update and all of my applications crash when I try and open them minus the default applications the phone comes with. I tried powering down and re-booting and it still made everything crash. So, I went back to itunes and just decided to put the phone back to factory settings. Before doing this it said I would be given an option to keep all contacts, text messages, calendars, things like that so I decided to do that. It never gave me that option so I lost ALL my contacts, text messages, pictures, everything. I am so upset..I want to know if I can get this info back?
