Earlier this week we found out that BlackBerry 6.1 had been renamed to BlackBerry 7. Today RIM made the new operating system official in a press release before BlackBerry World. BlackBerry 7 brings along a easier and faster user expeirence with an improved browser, voice search, and the ability to manage personal content separately from corporate content.
The BlackBerry web browser has been known for lacking in usability when comparing it to an Android browser, but RIM aims to change that with Blackberry 7. The browser has general performance gains of Liquid Graphics which helps deliver faster rendering and seamless panning and zooming. The browser also includes a just in time JavaScript compiler and HTML5 to improve the load speed of web pages.
Another big feature of BlackBerry 7 is called BlackBerry Balance. This works in conjunction with the Blackberry Enterprise Service to allow a single BlackBerry for both work and personal purposes.
