Infineon Technologies AG, the maker of the chip that provides the iPhone EDGE, will likely be the provider of the 3G chips. UBS analysts are saying that a 3G version of the iPhone will be released mid-year. It is also expected that the pricing of EDGE iPhone will be dropping in the next few months to help get rid of inventory.
