Boy Genius Report got a tip in today saying some pretty disappointing things about SlingPlayer for the iPhone. Their tipster claims that the app was denied today by Apple even though it followed all the guidelines. But why reject the application? Apparently AT&T has asked Apple to not allow the application to be accepted because of bandwidth concern. We are hoping that there will be a way for Sling Media to work out a deal with AT&T, but it is not looking promising at this point. We will keep you updated as we hear more.

Tons of people are patiently waiting the release of the SlingPlayer for the iPhone. Today Sling Media confirmed that it has submitted the first release of Sling Player to Apple. Once Apple reviews and accepts the program, it will be available for download from the App Store. In January, Sling Media announced that they were working on a program for the iPhone and that it would be released by the end of March.

Sling Media announced Monday night that they would release a SlingPlayer application for the iPhone by the end of March. In June of 2008, Sling Media released a video of an alpha application which they developed using a hacking method with the iPhone. The final release that will be available to the public will follow the SDK guidelines and will be approved by Apple. According to Brian Jaquet, PR director for Sling Media, the company will submit the application to Apple in the first quarter of 2009. The pricing for this application has not been determined yet.
