Is this the BlackBerry Storm3 or Slider?

bbslider2 Is this the BlackBerry Storm3 or Slider?

Pictures have leaked out of what seems to be a BlackBerry slider phone. We are hearing rumors that this may be the Storm3 or a whole new device. The keyboard seems to be the same as the BlackBerry 9700 and the screen looks to be a touch screen similar to the Storm. One thing is notice is that there is a trackpad on the device, which is different than the Storm2. We don’t have much details on the phone yet, but we will report it as we get it! Check out another shot after the jump.

Sneak Peak of the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 Codename Stratus

stratus6 Sneak Peak of the BlackBerry Pearl 9100 Codename Stratus

Salomondrin has done it again. The new BlackBerry Pearl 9100 codenamed Stratus has appeared and lucky Mr. Salomondrin himself has received (or snatched) a pre-release version. Now I must say that this is a very sexy BlackBerry Pearl and I’m loving the optical trackpad integration. The BlackBerry Stratus will feature the SureType keyboard, 3G, WiFi and the new 5.0 OS. Unfortnately, Salomondrin’s YouTube account has been suspended (I’m guessing due to all the leaks) but you can check out his site for more photo’s. This is still a pre-release version so we don’t know too much about it. Atleast we know RIM isn’t leaving out the candy bar Pearls.

Q4 Leaks of Devices and Plans for Rogers?

30829128 Q4 Leaks of Devices and Plans for Rogers?

Q4 is soon, and so are sales and a bunch of phone releases for Rogers. Non the less, PhoneModo from HowardForums has released a some pictures of upcoming devices as well as plans and marketing ideas for Rogers. It seems that they aren’t aiming for smartphone users, but instead, the so called “Webphones” Read on for more information about the devices and plans for Q4.

ITS THAT TIME AGAIN! Q4 is upon us, and PhoneModo is here to bring you the details. Of course, you can always find these soon on either themobileninjas.com and eventually it’ll probably hit BGR.

So heres the skinny:
DEVICES
Rogers wants to go away from the smartphone monicker that Blackberry’s and other data devices carry, so they’re focussing on ‘Webphones’ this year. A website will be up in the next couple days (something like www.rogers.com/webphones) to further this idea. Essentially though, they want to focus on web browsing over ’smart’ things like email etc. So which devices are they doing this? Whats their push?

5 WEBPHONES FOR LESS THAN $100
(thats what’ll be plastered all over their advertising)
These phones are…

LG Eve- $49.99 3yr V+D
-5.0MP Camera, 3″ Touchscreen, Android, WiFi, GPS
Theres going to be lots of focus on this phone apparently. It will be the social networking device for the Webphone campaign. So expect it in the commercials.

White Blackberry Bold 9000- $99.99 w. 3yr V+D
- 2.0MP Camera, HSPA, GPS, WiFi *launch imminent*

Sony Ericsson Xperia X1- $99.99 w. 3yr V+D
- 3.2MP Camera, Wifi, Win Mo 6.1

Nokia N86- $99.99 w. 3yr V+D
- 8MP Camera, Ovi Store, Dual slide capabilites, 8GB on board memory (Coming in 3-4 weeks time)

HTC Magic- $79.99 w. 3yr V+D
- 3.2MP Camera, 3″ Touchscreen, Android, WiFi, GPS

BLACKBERRY 9700 INFO>>
It was a no show in the slideshow, however the blackberry rep said $299.99 pricing and launch is in mid-November GUARANTEED (shoot for Nov. 21st on this date was his word)

Other Phones Coming..
There wasn’t much information about other phones coming to Rogers, other than the 5 above, but I do know that the Nokia Mural is coming. No pricing released. And as we all know (since its now shipping out to channels) the Nokia Surge is going to be part of the Quick Messaging Device offering from Rogers. They gave a couple of those out at our launch. Nice device for some.

PLANS
- Added into Mega Value Combos is the ability to get Unlimited network calling
- Additional minutes to be added in
- Same pricing as currently
- MY5 Local is going to MY5 Canada Wide
- Limited texting option is now Unlimited (when choosing your value add-on with MVC)

PREPAID
- Adding Samsung S366 and Nokia 5130 to prepaid lineup (should be $115 and $120 respectively)
- $29 Call, Text, Click and $29 MY5 plans are now priced at $25

Apple’s Tablet Rumored Features

ipadscreen Apples Tablet Rumored Features

Remember the Apple Tablet? Ya well if you don’t here’s a little reminder of what we all expected:

The Apple tablet I want will run the same basic hardware as the iPhone, with extended video and system RAM to accommodate larger computing needs, perhaps with some limited multitasking for some applications. System RAM is a big system bottleneck right now, and it won’t cost much to add enough to make things flow smoother. The video RAM will be necessary for the higher res of the 10 inch screen. The current iPhone CPU and graphic processor can handle all this well as they are. No need for changes. It will also be very thin. As thin as the iPod touch. Since its guts will be the same, but it will be a device with a larger surface, you also have more space for a larger battery.

This is what Gizmodo and I wanted. Yes, we wanted this. Well want isn’t exactly what we always get. Could it be better? Check this out. 10 new features for the upcoming Apple Tablet reported by iLounge. I would say this is complete BS but the person that stated these features also stated the iPod Nano 4G and 5G information correctly. Lets hope this is all true :

  1. Apple has created at least three separate prototypes of its tablet computer. Let’s call it “iPad.”
  2. Version 1 was designed with a 7” screen, which was judged to be too small. The latest version has a 10.7” screen.
  3. It runs iPhone OS.
  4. There have been reports that it looks like an iPhone. They’re sort of true. It looks like an iPhone 3G, complete with a curved back.
  5. It will come in two different variations: one with 3G networking capabilities, and one without 3G networking capabilities. Think of the 3G version as a bigscreen iPhone 3GS, and the non-3G version as a bigscreen iPod touch.
  6. Screen resolutions will obviously jump considerably from the iPhone and iPod touch 480×320-pixel displays, enabling easy reading of full-sized book and magazine pages, plus cropped newspaper pages. Expect something like 5-6 times the resolution of an iPod touch or iPhone screen (720p or thereabouts) and 7 times the touchable surface area.
  7. It is designed to expand the iPhone and iPod touch media concept to its next potential level: as a slate-like replacement for books and magazines, plus all of the media, gaming, app, and web functionality of the iPhone and iPod touch.
  8. It is not meant to compete with netbooks. It’s an iPhone OS media player and light communication device.
  9. Apple is currently planning to announce it on or before January 19, 2010, and to use an iPhone-like hype buildup period to start selling it in May or June.
  10. It is apparently awaiting a final green light from Steve Jobs; chances of it appearing in the market are believed to be 80% at this point.

Bell and TELUS to offer iPhone next month

bell telus iphone Bell and TELUS to offer iPhone next month

With the new HSPA launch happening in November. More cellphone companies take a look at different carriers. We heard earlier about the BlackBerry 9700 and 8530 showing up on Bell’s system but an iPhone? Complete shock to me. The Globe And Mail reports that the iPhone will be available for Bell and TELUS carriers for their upcoming HSPA network set to release in November before the holidays.

Bell Canada and Telus Corp. will begin selling the iPhone next month, breaking the stranglehold on the device that their rival Rogers Communications Inc. has held for more than a year.

Both carriers hope the addition of Apple Inc.’s groundbreaking smart phone to their lineups will help them sign up higher-value customers and shift the balance of power in Canada’s mobile market.

Neither Bell nor Telus would confirm that they would add the iPhone to their lineups. Apple also declined to comment. But people familiar with the matter said the two carriers will announce a working partnership with Apple as early as Tuesday or Wednesday and begin selling the device in time for the launch of their new network next month

BlackBerry Atlas? – Another Bold?

bb1 1 BlackBerry Atlas? Another Bold?

Not sure where Salomondrin is getting all this information or how the heck he even does. Either way, this is pretty impressive (besides the fact that there isn’t any 3G). Look out for the rumored “BlackBerry Atlas” a 9700 with the 8900 features. So… the BlackBerry Onyx resembles the Bold… then the Blackberry Atlas resembles the Curve 2… All makes sense. I see absolutely no point in this but who knows, it’s still a rumor.

At first when I heard about the new Blackberry Atlas I thought it was going to be a CDMA device, but the surprise is not only the fact that indeed is another GSM device, but that it is “Another Bold“? Can someone explain this to me!

This is what I know so far about the Atlas:

1) It says Bold on the back

2) Keyboard of a Javelin

3) Its NOT 3G, its just EDGE

4) Has flash in the camera

5) Has a trackpad

* As the story develops I’ll post more about this new device by RIM, so stay tuned for more.

Follow @Salomondrin for the latest rumors and info.

BlackBerry 9100 Striker rumored to be 3G BlackBerry Pearl

blackberry logo vertical color1 BlackBerry 9100 Striker rumored to be 3G BlackBerry Pearl

We have got some information that we have no yet been able to confirm but it comes from a pretty reliable source. Salomondrin has posted some information in the past that makes us believe he knows what is talking about when it comes to this new phone. According to salomondrin, RIM is working on the BlackBerry 9100 (codenamed Striker) that will be a 3G Pearl. 3G is not the only new thing, the phone is also going to have a redone body that will be thinner than the BlackBerry 9700 and will have a trackpad. No pictures just yet, but we will post them when they come along!

BlackBerry Odin 9520 GSM version shows itself

IMG 0420 1024x768 BlackBerry Odin 9520 GSM version shows itself

As many people have already heard. The Storm2, also known as the 9550 Odin, as been spotted with Verzion branding and lucky Salomondrin was able to get his hands on one and make a short video of it. Since this is the CDMA version, we obviously knew that Europe was bound to get some sort of GSM version. Well what do ya know.

IMG 0421 1024x768 BlackBerry Odin 9520 GSM version shows itself

Exclusive pictures have been captured over at a German website known as benezblog.de of the BlackBerry Odin 9520 with Vodapone carrier being used. (yes, we had to translate this) We don’t know much and neither do they but we do know is that the phone is the 9520 model, it’ll have WiFi and 3G, and that it’s running firmware 5.0.0.138. This is great for European users but were really hoping to see a North American 3G version of the 9520 Odin for AT&T and Rogers.

Telus may be getting the iPhone 3GS in October

_3g-iphone-photo1

The latest iPhone rumor to hit the Internet says that Telus will be acquiring the rights to the iPhone in October of this year. This information comes from RileyFreeman over at HowardForums, who is typically a reliable source of Telus news. He says this information comes directly from an executive at the phone company. The iPhone 3GS will be launching with Telus’ HSPA network. It is important to mention that Telus runs a CDMA network so if this rumor is true, Telus will be the first CDMA network to launch the iPhone.
