Comparing Clear 4G with Verizon 4G

Because of the recent surge in popularity of BlackBerrys, iPhones, and other smartphones, it is becoming increasingly frequent for people to rely on having Internet access with them when they travel. Whether you’re a student or you’re in the working world, it is now almost completely necessary to be able to access email twenty-four hours a day, every day. This is because, with the increased popularity of smartphones and the expansion of wireless Internet, people expect their emails to be answered promptly, and they expect you to have constant access to the resources of the Internet. It is therefore very important, when buying a smartphone or choosing a 4G service to invest in, to decide what is best for you, and what will offer you the best service at the best price. In order to potentially help with such a decision, the following is a brief comparison of Verizon 4G vs Clear 4G that illustrates some of the main differences that can exist between different wireless Internet providers. Specifically, here are three main questions to consider, among others, when looking at 4G service providers:

1) What do you get and how much does it cost?

Clear offers plans starting at $35 per month that allow you to access, download, and upload unlimited amounts of data. This is a very competitive rate, and also sets Clear apart because it does not increase its prices based on how much content or storage space you need on your wireless device.

Verizon’s costs can vary per month depending on how much data space you are using. Pricing starts at $50 for 5GB and $80 for 10GB.

2) Will service work if you’re not in a 4G zone?

Clear offers a plan that allows you to switch automatically from 4G to 3G when you are in an area not yet covered by 4G service. However, purchasing this plan, which essentially gains you unlimited Internet access, will amount to $55 per month.

Verizon offers a similar plan that grants you full service even when not in a 4G supported area, but again, the price per month will vary depending on your data usage.

3) Is 4G service the main aspect of the company I’m choosing?

Clear was the first mobile broadband network in the country, and was designed specifically for wireless broadband access.

Verizon has adapted to using 4G with its devices.

Ultimately, the decision is up to you on what company you trust with your 4G service. There are pros and cons to just about any company out there, and many will suit your needs perfectly adequately. However, it is always prudent to gauge them against each other to figure out what is best for you.
