You can now rent movies from the Android Market

Google today announced movie rentals from the Android Market. Movie rentals start at just $1.99 and are rented for 30-days, with 24 hours to watch the movie once it has been started. Google is unique in how it does its movie rentals, saving the movie to the cloud, making it available on your Android phone, tablet, or stored locally for offline playback. There are thousands of movies that can be browsed on the web and on Android devices once available. Android’s 3.1 update coming to the Motorola Xoom device will be rolling later today and will be available on Android 2.2 phones in a few weeks.
