Google Maps for Android updated to 5.4.0

Google has just pushed out an update for its Maps program on Android phones. Available today, Google Maps 5.4.0 brings along three new features including:

  • View your Google Maps searches in Google Web History for your account.
  • See additional business details for each search result on the map
  • Report “destination not here” in Navigation (Beta)

In a time where privacy and location tracking is becoming a big issue, Google has decided to allow you to record all of your map searches in your Google Web History account if you want to look back on the address later. This is a great feature for those who do a lot of searching within the Maps app.

The second feature will show the star rating under the business listing name. It will also allow you to view even more details about the business if you click the listing name.
