Yesterday we learned that the T-Mobile Sidekick 4G was coming to RadioShack on April 20, but T-Mobile has confirmed that and given us a price. The device is manufactured by Samsung and has the great QWERTY keyboard that the older Sidekick’s are known for. T-Mobile has switched from the old Danger operating system to Google’s Android 2.2. Not only that, this Sidekick will be compatible with T-Mobile’s 4G network with theoretical peak download speeds of up to 21 Mbps.
The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G has a 3.5-inch touch screen display that twists out like the previous ones. It also has a 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor to keep it running at blazing fast speeds. It has a VGA front-facing camera for T-Mobile Video Chat powered by Qik. The Sidekick 4G will be available on April 20 for $100 on a two-year contract.

I am so excited for the new Sidekick 4G that is coming out! As soon as it does I am going to get one. I used to have a Sidekick and I loved it!… At least until a certain operating system lost all my contacts. So I upgraded to a Samsung Vibrant. So I have been playing with Android for a long time. I know that the first app I will download will be the DISH Remote Access app. Being a DISH Network customer, my 922 SlingLoaded receiver lets me use my phone and this app as a wireless TV. I am not confined to home either, because anywhere that I have an internet connection, I can stream! So since the Sidekick 4G has, well 4G, I can stream super fast anywhere I go! Now that is the true TV experience! I can’t wait to get mine!
