Boy Genius Report got a tip in today saying some pretty disappointing things about SlingPlayer for the iPhone. Their tipster claims that the app was denied today by Apple even though it followed all the guidelines. But why reject the application? Apparently AT&T has asked Apple to not allow the application to be accepted because of bandwidth concern. We are hoping that there will be a way for Sling Media to work out a deal with AT&T, but it is not looking promising at this point. We will keep you updated as we hear more.

3G Wireless bandwidth is the new bottleneck. It will stifle real-time applications such as video and VoIP until the WiMAX and LTE networks are deployed. At that point, the more demanding applications may well move away from traditional cellular networks.
